Devil's Proposition (Devil 1)
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the heart of the forest, there was a young girl named Lily. Lily was known throughout the village for her beauty, her kindness, and her love for adventure. She would often wander off into the woods, exploring the nooks and crannies of the forest that few dared to venture into.
One day, as Lily was wandering through the forest, she came across a dark, ominous
cave. She had heard rumors of a devil that lived within the cave, but her
curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to explore it anyway.
As she entered the cave, Lily was immediately struck by a sense of foreboding. The
air was thick with the stench of sulfur, and the walls were covered in eerie,
glowing runes. Despite her fear, Lily pressed on, determined to see what lay
within.
As she moved deeper into the cave, the air grew hotter and the darkness more
oppressive. Suddenly, Lily heard a voice in her head, a voice that was both
soothing and terrifying at the same time.
"Welcome, Lily," the voice said. "I have been waiting for you."
Lily spun around, but there was no one there. She realized with a shiver that the
voice was coming from inside her own mind.
"Who are you?" she asked, her voice shaking.
"I am the devil," the voice replied. "And I have a proposition for
you."
Lily felt a cold sweat break out on her skin. She had heard stories of people who
made deals with the devil, and she knew they never ended well.
"What kind of proposition?" she asked cautiously.
"I can give you anything you desire," the devil said. "Fame, wealth,
power. You name it, and it's yours."
Lily was tempted. She had always dreamed of being rich and famous, of having the
power to change the world. But she knew that deals with the devil always came
with a price.
"What's the catch?" she asked.
The devil chuckled. "Nothing too onerous, I assure you. Just a small
favor."
Lily hesitated. She knew she should turn and run, but the promise of wealth and
power was too great to resist.
"Okay," she said finally. "What do you want me to do?"
The devil smiled, and Lily felt a shiver run down her spine.
"I want you to kill someone," he said.
Lily felt her stomach lurch. She had never killed anyone before, and the thought of
it made her sick to her stomach.
"I can't do that," she said firmly.
"Suit yourself," the devil replied. "But remember, the offer stands. If you
change your mind, just say the word."
And with that, the voice was gone.
Lily stumbled out of the cave, her mind reeling. She knew she had made a mistake by
even considering the devil's offer. But the promise of wealth and power still
lingered in her mind, tempting her to reconsider.
Over the next few weeks, Lily found herself thinking more and more about the devil's
offer. She tried to push it out of her mind, but it kept coming back, like a
snake that had sunk its fangs into her soul.
Finally, one night, she couldn't take it anymore. She made her way back to the cave, her
heart pounding in her chest.
"I'll do it," she said to the darkness.
"Excellent," the devil replied. "The person I want you to kill is a man named John. He
lives in the village, in the house at the edge of town. You know the one."
Lily nodded, her stomach roiling with nausea.
"You'll find a knife inside the cave," the devil continued
