Ghostly William (Ghost 7)
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the countryside, there lived a young woman named Emily. She was known for her beauty and kind heart, and everyone in the village adored her. Emily lived alone in a small cottage at the edge of the woods. She enjoyed the peace and solitude it provided, but there was something about the forest that made her uneasy.
One evening, as Emily was walking home from the village, she heard strange noises coming from the woods. It sounded like someone was following her, but every time she turned around, she saw nothing but darkness. Emily quickened her pace, and as she approached her cottage, she saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was a tall, gaunt man with piercing blue eyes. Emily froze, unsure of what to do.
The man approached her, and Emily could feel the chill of his breath on her neck. "Do not be afraid," he whispered, "I mean you no harm." Emily relaxed a little, but she still felt uneasy around him.
"My name is William," the man said, "and I have been watching you for some time. I find you to be a most intriguing woman."
Emily blushed at his compliment, but she was still wary of him. "I appreciate the kind words," she said, "but I must be going now. It is late, and I have much to do tomorrow."
William nodded, and with a slight bow, he disappeared into the woods. Emily breathed a sigh of relief and hurried inside her cottage, where she locked the door and sat down at her kitchen table. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was not quite right.
Days went by, and Emily couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. She tried to ignore it, but every time she walked through the village, she felt eyes on her. She also started hearing strange noises in her cottage at night. Doors creaked, floors creaked, and she heard footsteps when she knew she was alone.
One night, Emily decided to investigate. She got out of bed and made her way to the living room, where she saw a shadowy figure standing in the corner. She gasped and reached for the light switch, but it wouldn't turn on. The figure stepped forward, and Emily could see that it was William.
"What are you doing here?" Emily asked, trying to sound brave.
"I had to see you," William said, his voice echoing through the empty room. "I have been watching you for some time, and I cannot get you out of my head. I want you to be mine."
Emily was taken aback by William's words. She had never given him any indication that she was interested in him. "I'm sorry, William," she said, "but I do not feel the same way. I think it is best if you leave now."
William's expression darkened, and Emily could feel his anger growing. "You will regret this," he said, and with a flourish, he disappeared into thin air.
Emily was frightened by what had just happened. She didn't believe in ghosts or spirits, but there was no other explanation for what she had just witnessed. She tried to push it out of her mind and go back to sleep, but she couldn't shake the feeling that William was still watching her.
The following day, Emily decided to talk to the village elder, an old woman named Martha. Martha was known for her wisdom and knowledge of the supernatural, and Emily hoped she could help her understand what was happening.
"I've been seeing a ghost," Emily said, as she sat down in Martha's living room. "His name is William, and he's been following me around."
